Hair Replacement For Men

Before-Elan-Male_400px.gifAccording to the American hair Loss Association, more than 95% of male hair loss is caused by Adrogenetic Alopecia, or male pattern baldness, which is an imbalance in hormones.  While medications are available to slow the progression of hair loss, the only permanent solution is hair transplantation through surgery.  The alternative to these is a temporary or semi-permanent solution, such as a hair piece or grafting service.

Forget the fake-looking toupees of the past.  Today’s hair pieces are very natural looking and require minimal maintenance.  They are customized to match a person’s hair and are applied to the hair or scalp with tape or clips, allowing them to be removed by the client and washed at home.  Because they are generally replaced yearly, they work well for limited budgets.

Spiky-Onrite-Male_400px.jpgGrafting and Bonding Services are semi-permanent solutions for hair loss, requiring a bit more maintenance, yet the results are phenomenal.  A mold is made of the scalp, noting all details of the scalp and hair line.  A graft is created based on the scalp and the clients' hair color.  The graft is bonded onto the scalp using medical grade adhesive and then cut to the appropriate length and style of the hair.  Once applied, the base of the graft becomes like a second layer of skin, giving the appearance of natural growing hair.  The graft remains intact and all activities, including swimming, exercising, and showering, can be performed.  Visits are usually every 3-4 weeks to remove and replace the graft and most clients rotate through 2-6 per year, depending on the style and durability of the graft.
