Ruth
Ruth Roberts began her education while apprenticing in a Salon in Hannover, Germany. She then took the opportunity to move to America where, after one short year, she began her career as a stylist at Bass Hair Salon. These were exciting times filled with workshops, hair shows and seminars all in pursuit of her dream to become an expert in the industry. After ten years of playing in the field of hair and beauty, Ruth retired her shears for a while to stay at home with her children. She returned to the industry that she loved a few years ago and has been furthering her education even more with cutting classes and color workshops by brands including Surface Hair Care and Schwarzkopf.
Ruth has recently joined the Bass
team again and specializes in color and highlight services, as well as
precision haircuts. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, dancing,
and spending time with her family.
Mallori
Mallori McClure graduated from Roffler Hair School in 2009 and joined Bass Hair Salon immediately afterwards. Since graduation, she has continued her education with various opportunities, including color workshops with Schwartzkopf and cutting classes with Surface Hair Care and F.H.I. Mallori regularly attends Hair Shows and specializes in men and women’s haircuts, special occasion hairstyles, color, highlights, and waxing services. On her off days, Mallori enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.
Joy
Joy Stymest graduated from Roffler Hair School in 1993 and has been with Bass for more than four years. Joy has continued her education by attending many additional classes, including hair color application, multi-dimensional highlighting, and precision haircutting classes. She specializes in various haircuts for men and women, as well as color, highlights and permanent waves. On her off days, Joy enjoys spending time with her family and two children.
Christy
Christy Keller, a long time client of Bass, began her career here in 2002, shortly after graduating from Chattahoochee Technical College. She is a master cosmetologist and has also attended classes at Roffler Hair College to master her barber skills. Since becoming a hairdresser, Christy has advanced her still with continuous training, both in and out of the salon. Some of these include Paul Mitchell cut and color classes, Alterna cutting classes, and Schwartzkopf color certification. Christy specializes in hair cutting, color, highlights, permanent waves and straighteners, including the Keratin Protein straightening system. When she’s not busy growing her career, Christy enjoys running and spending time with her family.
Charlene
Charlene Knight has been a stylist for more than fifteen years and has made Bass her home since then. Initially receiving her education from Roffler Hair College, she has continued her training to include cutting classes by Paul Mitchell, and color training with Scruples and Schwartzkopf. Charlene specializes in hair cutting, color, highlights, permanent waves, straighteners and facial waxing. She lives with her family in Marietta and enjoys spending time with them.
Rhonda
Rhonda Tibbs began as a shampoo assistant in 1977 at the original Bass Styling Center in Smyrna, GA. She attended Roffler Hair College and became a master stylist. Rhonda then began working full time as a stylist in 1980 and continues to provide excellent service to the clients of Bass today. In her earlier years as a stylist, she attended many classes offered at Hair Shows and around the Atlanta area and she continues her education today at seminars and demonstrations offered in the salon. Rhonda specializes in hair cutting, colors, highlights, and perms. When not at work, Rhonda enjoys working out and riding motorcycles with her husband.
Jean
Jean Bass, the original owner of Bass Styling Center along with her husband Dewey, began her career as a hair stylist in 1970. She and Dewey, as well as Kim and Jerry, the current owners of the salon, traveled the world competing in various Hair Shows. Her training is extensive and comes from all over the world, including Paris and Japan. She now specializes in Ladies and Men’s hair cutting. When she is not spending time at the salon, she and Dewey enjoy traveling and seeing the world together.
Jerry
Jerry Potts specializes in precision haircutting for men and women. He likes the challenge of finding solutions for problem hair and hair loss. He has more than 30 years of hair styling experience and has received more than 35 awards. Jerry participated on three USA teams in International competitions, winning two gold medals, a silver and bronze. He has also competed in hairstyling competitions on regional, national, and international levels and has taught hair design on the international level. After attending Roffler Hair College in 1976 in Atlanta, Jerry has continued his education in haircutting, styling and hair replacement at annual show and classes around the country.
Jerry and his wife, Kim Potts, have owned Bass Hair Salon since 1988. He currently serves on the advisory board for the Toni & Guy Hairdressers Academy in Marietta. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
